With Burnett Pitching, Posada Is a Spectator
Jorge Posada tried to answer the question, but he kept stammering and stopping. Asked how he would feel about not being the starting catcher for the Yankees on Friday night, he used phrases like “I can’t really” and “I don’t know,” and “I mean” and “you know.”
It was only on Posada’s fifth attempt that he was able to offer a complete thought about what it will feel like to be watching from the dugout when Game 2 of the division series begins against the Minnesota Twins.
“Friday is going to be different for me,” Posada said on Wednesday night. “I don’t know. I can’t, what can I tell you? I’m going to approach it like a regular-season game and be ready when they need me. To tell you the truth, there’s not much I can do.” Read the rest of this entry »
